At the beginning of August (actually, July 30th) I bought a bunch of produce at the grocery store and started making and eating salads. Then roast vegetables. Then more salads. Fruit, beans, cauliflower, cabbage, kale – yes, even trashberries (I’ll explain later).
It’s weird, but it’s been a week and a half now, and I like it. I really like it. And I want to talk about it away from my regular (mostly writing) blog, Nickified.com. I want to gush about the food I’ve bought and pat myself on the back at the early stages of my veg*ism journey. I want to talk about nutrients and meals and yeah, I want to talk about my weight, too.
I want to talk about how after 10 days, I’m happier with my body. I’m able to eat massive meals and get full and then do it again four hours later because I’m starving again, and it’s all healthy calories.
I don’t know what this is, or how long it will last, or if it’ll make it past 30 days. But it’s definitely a thing, and I like it.
If vegetables aren’t your thing, if you don’t want to watch an adult woman (almost 40) get excited about meager goals met, if you aren’t prepared to be supportive, or at least generally let me have my excitement in peace, I know this other great blog you might like.
